REPRESENTATION OF SIGNALS BY LOCAL SYMMETRY DECOMPOSITION

During my thesis project I worked on a new transform and analysed its characteristics.
To compute this transform an interative even/odd decomposition is applied: it has been called Iterative Symmetry Transform (IST).
Starting by this work, I moved my research activity to the identification of local symmetries in 1D digital signals, and now I am trying to apply obtained results on 2D domain. The survey of all possible angles of a symmetry axis represents the main difficulty in the passage from 1D to 2D domain.
Furthermore I am attempinting to exploit the information of the local symmetries to compress the original data. To do this I am searching the optimum transform of signals which the localized even/odd decomposition has been applied.

 
NEW TOOL FOR THE QUANTIFICATION OF RADIAL NEO-VESSELS IN CAM ANGIOGENIC ASSAY

During my academic years I have collaborated with some researchers of the “Medicina molecolare e traslazionale” department in order to improve a software able to quantify veins present in CAM images.
The collaboration is still in progress: we want to improve the accuracy of the tool, to enhance its functionalities and to enlarge the kind of images to which software operates.
