INFORMATION INFRASTRUCTURES TO IMPLEMENT CYBER PHYSICAL PRODUCTION SYSTEMS

Research activity is linked to the consolidting concept of Industry 4.0 referring to the ability to introduce technologies in manufacturing machines to collect and structure detailed information from sensors and controls in order to consolidate an experience to be used to optimise future manifacturing processes, identify possibile anomalies, their cause and repairing strategies and finally to improve manufacturing process quality and efficiency and machines uptime.
Based on the concepts of Cyber Physical Production System (CPPS) and Big Data the aim of the research is to identify models for the representation of the behaviour of the machines in the cyber space using and handling huge volumes of data to obtain the result of production efficiency both in terms of cost and use of resources with particular reference to the impacts on the environment and to minimize the stops of the machines in the context of complex manufacturing systems.

 
APPLICATION OF CYBER PHYSICAL SYSTEM ONTOLOGY TO OTHER SECTORS

The effort to develop a generic ontology dedicated to the application to manufacturing environment of CPS concept is enabling the exploitment of a generic model to apply the same concept to other sectors like health, wellness and sports and in general to the representation in the cyber space of any mechatronic component.
