|OPTIMIZATION MODELS AND ALGORITHMS FOR HOME HEALTHCARE
In recent years, the field of home health care has become a cause of interest and in-depth studies by researchers in the field of Operational Research and beyond. The typical hard problem in this area is the need to plan the activities of a fleet of healthcare professionals who must visit a number of patients at home. My research goal is to study and formulate MIP models for this problem and its several variants by taking into account both scheduling and vehicle routing issues and facing with different types of constraints including, among others, the workload of operators, the presence of time windows within which perform the service, the continuity of care and so on. Finally, I will develop metaheuristic and matheuristic approches to solve real instances of the studied problems.
Alessandro Gobbi was born on May 3th 1990 in Lima (Perù). In March 2016, he achieved Master Degree in Computer Engenieering at University of Brescia with a thesis in Software Engineering, Information Systems and Operations Research “Ottimizzazione del percorso di cura per pazienti con neoplasia al colon-retto: processi decisionali, modelli, algoritmi”. From March 2016 to July 2016 he was an intern at ASST of Spedali Civili di Brescia for A.I.A.C.C.I.O. project. In July 2016 he obtained the qualification to practice the profession of Information Engineer. In November 2016 he started the PhD program in Information Engeneering at University of Brescia. His main research and teaching interests concern Operations Research and Optimization Algorithms. He is member of the Operations Research Group in the Department of Information Engeneering coordinated by Prof. Renata Mansini.
