|PREPARATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF METAL OXIDES NANOSTRUCTURES FOR FUNCTIONAL DEVICES
Sensors based on nanomaterials exibhit good characteristics such as high sensitivity, high sensing speed, good stability and good selectivity and have a low cost of production. For these reasons, in the last decade, this field has increasingly attracted the interest of the scientific community worldwide. Even though a lot of efforts have been put to get a better knowledge about these materials, a lot of possibilities are still open and many different topics still need to be investigated. Said that, the main goal of my research activity is the production and characterization of novel metal-oxides based nanostructures for funcional devices.
PREPARATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF NOVEL NANOMATERIALS FOR THERMOELECTRIC COUPLES
A secondary research activity I am focusing on, is the study of new nanomaterials with good thermoelectric properties. The aim of this work is the development and characterization of a miniaturized thermoelectric generator for the energy harvesting field.

Giorgio Duina was born in 1990 in Brescia. He studied at University of Brescia and got his B. Sc. degree in Electronics and Telecommunications with a work based on artificial neural networks to forecast the secondary pollution trend on urban scale.
In 2016 he earned his M. Sc. degree in Microelectronics at the same university working on a new architecture of DC-DC boost converter, obtaining a high-efficiency device.
In September, 2017 he won a one-year Research Fellowship at SENSOR Laboratory, Department of Information Engineering, University of Brescia and his work concerned the design and development of an electronic control system for a gas sensor array.
From 2018 he his a PhD student in Physical Sciences for Engineering at the same laboratory.
