|CODING AND CONSTELLATION SHAPING IN CODED MODULATION SCHEMES
The communication of information has always been an important research topic, especially since 1948, when Claude E. Shannon wrote his famous paper A Mathematical Theory of Communication, creating the Information Theory field. Since then, many researchers studied how to maximize the rate of information transmitted on a telecommunication channel. The standard choice is the usage of source/channel coding and a modulator.
Presentation of the first-year research activities (November 25, 2019)
– I was born on 14/08/1994 in Brescia, Italy.
– In 2016 I got a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication and Electronic Engineering at the Università degli Studi di Brescia, in the Department of Information Engineering.
My Bachelor’s Thesis was titled Basic coverage of Visible Light Communications, my supervisor was Pierangelo Migliorati. The final grade was 104/110.
– In 2018 I got a Master’s degree in Communication Technologies and Multimedia at the Università degli Studi di Brescia, in the Department of Information Engineering.
My Master’s Thesis was titled Bandwidth Efficient Coded Modulations with Probabilistic Shaping, my supervisors were Pierangelo Migliorati and Marco Dalai. The final grade was 110 cum laude.
Present: I am doing a Ph.D. in Telecommunication Engineering, working in the field of Information Theory, in particular on the topic of constellation shaping.
Curriculum: Telecommunication Engineering
