Synthesis and characterization of halide-perovskites for nanophotonics

Fields such as photonics and sensors have greatly benefited from the innovative push due to the creation of new materials. In these areas, the most innovative devices arise from the use of a class of semiconductors called Perovskite. My PhD activity concerns the integration of inorganic perovskites in photonic structures for applications in the sensor field. In particular, we are studying the class of inorganic Perovskites CsPbX3 (X = Cl, I, Br) which adapt to this type of application. The optimization of this type of materials passes from the search for the appropriate combinations between substrate and perovskite film, also trying to optimize the thickness and roughness of the films in view of sensor applications.
