Development of flexible contactless humidity printed sensors

The use of printed electronics benefited by the growing diffusion of printing techniques makes it possible to obtain smart objects which, in addition to the functions for which they were conceived, can measure physical quantities of the environment in which they are implemented through sensors such as temperature, humidity and gas sensors and transmit information to other devices. Thanks to printed electronics, there are different methods available for creating sensors, interconnections and antennas on the surface of devices. There are several advantages linked to the use of printed electronics such as low-cost production and great availability of different materials. The present work proposes the use of inkjet printing to realize on a flexible substrate a contactless humidity sensor based on a capacitive inductive resonant circuit.
