Current research focuses on ultra-low-power analog IC design, with a particular emphasis on digital-based and inverter-based amplifier architectures. It explores novel circuit topologies that improve energy efficiency while overcoming the limitations imposed by advanced CMOS technologies, including reduced intrinsic gain and supply voltages. Particular attention is devoted to the characterization and mitigation of electromagnetic interference (EMI) susceptibility in analog circuits through the development of robust amplifier architectures. The research spans analog and mixed-signal circuit design, combining circuit simulation, layout, and experimental validation through measurements on silicon test chips.

Short Bio
Paolo Faustini graduated in March 2023 with a master’s degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Brescia, with a thesis on the design of an ultra low power digital-based amplifier. Since November 2023, he is working on a PhD in Information Engineering at the University of Brescia, continuing his work on ultra-low power IC design.
