This research explores innovative strategies to enhance user privacy in Wi-Fi networks, focusing on the challenges posed by unauthorized sensing using Channel State Information (CSI). Currently, several methods, known as obfuscation techniques, are designed to protect user privacy. These techniques aim to distort signals while minimizing the impact on WLAN network performance. The goal of this study is to identify vulnerabilities in existing obfuscation methods and develop more effective, robust solutions to further improve privacy protection.

Short Bio

Giovanni Angelo Alghisi is a PhD student in Information Engineering at the University of Brescia. His research focuses on Wi-Fi physical-layer security and privacy, with particular emphasis on protecting users from unauthorized Channel State Information (CSI)-based sensing while enabling legitimate Wi-Fi sensing applications. He is involved in the European 6G-INTENSE project, where he works on IEEE 802.11az technologies for device localization. His research interests include wireless networks, network security, privacy-enhancing technologies, and experimental evaluation of next-generation Wi-Fi systems.
